The Council’s Corporate Asset and Facilities Management (CAFM) Service is responsible for the Council’s large and diverse property assets (excluding schools and housing), ensuring that they are fit for purpose, deliver value for money, and support and enhance service delivery. With a portfolio of around 300 buildings including changing rooms, leisure facilities, office buildings and many heritage buildings such as the iconic Halifax Town Hall; the Service’s Technical Facilities Management (FM) Team is responsible for all technical resources (internal and external), required to deliver an effective maintenance and development service for this property estate.
This is a specialist team with key expertise, which acts as an intelligent client responsible for determining, specifying, commissioning and managing the full range of specialist works required to maintain such a large, diverse and complex portfolio of properties. It is also responsible for monitoring the Council’s buildings and drawing up programmes of work across the estate, ensuring that all planned, programmed and reactive repair works are delivered with a customer focus, on time and within budget. The team has oversight of the delivery of capital projects and significant building works, responsible for substantial capital budgets as well as an annual revenue budget of circa £2m.
Following a promotion within the Technical FM team we are looking to recruit to the role of Technical Manager (Design, Fabric and CDM). You will lead a team of dedicated professional architects and building surveyors delivering a diverse range of property related work across the Council
The role will ensure that capital and revenue projects and schemes are designed and delivered to meet the needs of internal and external clients and are delivered within the required budget, time, and quality requirements.
If you have a degree in a relevant technical subject or are able to demonstrate recent significant relevant experience in a similar demanding role, then we would be delighted to receive your application.
The successful candidate will have experience of team management and significant property management experience including the design, procurement and delivery of repair and refurbishment projects in a diverse portfolio. You should be able to demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills and be familiar with budget monitoring and collaborative working.
