Looking for a hands-on kitchen manager to run all aspects of the kitchen's operations at Bubbles' World of Play, this is a position to cover maternity leave and is expected to last 12 months. Working full time over 5 days a week, including weekends, with no evening shifts, latest finish being 6:30pm. This role also benefits from Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Easter Sunday off, with reduced hours for Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. Paid breaks with staff meals and drinks are also included, as well as discount on admissions and parties.
This role includes managing staff, inventory, and budgets, while also maintaining food safety standards and upholding quality control. You will be responsible for leading and motivating the kitchen team, ensuring consistent high standards of cleanliness, food preparation and service, as well as performing general day to day kitchen tasks. Applicants must be level 3 food hygiene trained and undergone allergen awareness training, having confidence in preperation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Staff Management:
Hiring, training, and scheduling kitchen staff, as well as providing guidance and support. Being able to train new starters to a high food standard agency level
• Inventory and Ordering:
Managing food and supply inventory, placing orders, and ensuring proper stock rotation and storage, while reducing wastage
• Food Safety and Hygiene:
Implementing and enforcing food safety protocols, maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, and ensuring all staff adheres to health and safety regulations, and that all paperwork and checklists are being followed
• Budget Management:
Controlling costs, managing expenses, and tracking inventory to stay within budgetary guidelines.
• Quality Control:
Ensuring food is prepared and presented to company standards, monitoring food quality, and maintaining consistency in all dishes.
• Communication:
Communicating effectively with all staff, duty management, suppliers, and other relevant parties.
• Problem Solving:
Addressing operational issues, resolving conflicts, and making decisions to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
In essence, we are looking for a kitchen manager who is a leader and a problem-solver, responsible for creating a productive and efficient kitchen environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
