Westhaven nursing home in Hoylake, Wirral is home to well trained and helpful staff with rooms for up to 52 residents.
Dining is a social occasion and our dining rooms are warm and welcoming. We encourage friends and families to join us for meals with prior arrangement or afternoon tea. We also cater for special celebrations for our residents. Menus are prepared in consultation with input from our residents, to ensure that cultural and personal preferences are considered, while achieving a balanced nutritional diet.
As an kitchen assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring that food is prepared to the highest standards and with the correct use of all equipment and materials.
Essential Skills
Previous catering experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Report and record in the appropriate manner any information considered to be important to the Homes Manager
Ensure that the Cook-in-charge is kept informed of any changes or problems that occur during his/her absence.
Ensure that a good standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained throughout the kitchen, to meet the required standards of practice prescribed by Environmental Health Agencies
Ensure that all machines are used correctly, cleaned and stored. Any faults or damage is to be reported immediately.
Ensuring the correct storage and rotation of stocks.{lease note; Public transport
Please note; Sunday public transport does not run early Sunday mornings, other means of transport would need to be considered for Sunday morning shifts
