Site & Maintenance Manager, Wyvern Academy
£27,814 – £31,688 per annum, 37 hours per week, permanent, all year round round
At Wyvern Academy, we do more than educate – we transform lives. We’re a vibrant, supportive, and inclusive school community for children and young people aged 2 to 19 with learning difficulties, autism, physical and sensory disabilities, and complex healthcare needs.
And right now, we’re looking for someone special to join our team – someone practical, passionate and proud of their work as our Site & Maintenance Manager.
About the role:
This is no ordinary maintenance role. As Site & Maintenance Manager, you’ll be the guardian of our school environment, ensuring everything runs smoothly, safely and efficiently – from the boilers to the buildings, the locks to the lighting, the paths to the playground.
You’ll be responsible for:
• Managing the appearance, safety and security of the school site
• Planning and carrying out routine and reactive maintenance
• Overseeing cleaning standards, site cleanliness and porterage duties
• Taking ownership of site safety systems, acting as the designated Fire & Security Officer
• Leading and working alongside a Site Assistant, building a small but mighty team
This role is hands-on and varied – no two days are the same. You’ll need to be organised, adaptable, and always ready to roll up your sleeves.
