Role Overview
Tutorbase is seeking experienced, passionate part-time ESOL Tutors to join our dedicated team. You will deliver tailored ESOL training that integrates language development with employability and personal skills, enabling learners to overcome barriers and achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities
Develop tailored action plans with SMART goals to address barriers and skills development.
Deliver Bespoke Training: Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that embed employability skills, digital literacy, and wellbeing alongside accredited and non-accredited learning relevant to learners’ sectors of interest.
Monitor and Support Progress: Regularly assess learner progress, adapt teaching strategies, and maintain accurate learner records (both electronic and paper-based).
Employability Skills Integration: Embed English for Employment, CV writing, interview skills, job search techniques, and job application support into every session.
Administrative Duties: Complete all required documentation and lesson reports in line with Tutorbase’s contractual and quality assurance requirements.
Maintain Compliance: Uphold safeguarding, Prevent Duty, equality of opportunity, and safe working practices as per Tutorbase policies.
Partnership Development: Support recruitment efforts and build positive relationships with partners and employers relevant to learner pathways.
Professional Development: Maintain and enhance your professional knowledge and skills through CPD and self-reflection.
Standard Responsibilities
Participate in performance reviews and training needs assessments for self and others.
Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment, ensuring health and safety compliance.
Undertake additional duties as appropriate to the role.
Comply fully with Tutorbase policies and procedures.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Professional teaching qualification such as CELTA, TEFL, TESOL or equivalent.
Experience delivering ESOL to adults (minimum 2 years preferred).
Experience in assessing and tailoring learning for diverse adult learners.
Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
Ability to plan, organise and deliver lessons effectively with differentiation.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage learners from diverse backgrounds.
Understanding of the UK job market and ability to embed employability skills in teaching.
Commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and maintaining compliance with Tutorbase standards.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement or equivalent.
Level 4 Award in Quality Assurance of Assessment or equivalent.
Experience with funded employability programmes or work-based learning.
Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths or equivalent.
IT skills and ability to deliver digital literacy training.
Valid driving license and willingness to travel for work-related duties (if applicable).
