We are seeking a talented and inspiring Visiting Singing Teacher to join our vibrant Music Department from September 2025.
About the role
This is a rewarding opportunity to work with pupils across a broad range of abilities, from beginners to advanced singers preparing for Grade 8, ARSM diplomas, and beyond. The successful candidate will bring a passion for vocal teaching, the ability to inspire confidence, and a commitment to nurturing technical and musical development.
Lessons are typically delivered on set days each week, although some flexibility can be offered. There may also be opportunities for the successful candidate to contribute to orchestras and chamber groups.
Applicants should hold a relevant teaching or performance diploma (ABRSM, Trinity, Rockschool or equivalent) and have proven experience of working with young people. Familiarity with a range of vocal exam syllabuses is essential.
Music at St Edward’s
Singing is an important element of school life at Teddies. The School currently has six singing teachers, and we are expanding provision to meet increasing demand from September 2025. Our pupils include former choristers from St Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Christ Church Cathedral Oxford, Merton College Oxford, and St George’s Chapel Windsor. Recent achievements include ARSM diploma distinctions and choral scholarships to New College, Oxford and Trinity College, Cambridge.
The Music Department is housed in a purpose-built, state-of-the-art £7 million facility, opened in 2016. It features 25 practice rooms, 7 ensemble spaces, 3 classrooms, a fully equipped recording studio, rock room, sound booth, baroque ensemble room, Sixth Form library, and a 120-seat recital hall, offering an inspiring environment for musical creativity and performance.
The deadline for applications is 9am on Thursday 17th July 2025. Interviews will take place on Tuesday 12th August 2025.
St Edward’s does not accept applications from recruitment agencies.
