Job Title: Principal Engineer - Electrical Power (LV)

Location: Cumbria, Barrow-in-Furness

Job Type: Contract, expected to work Full-Time hours

Primary Industry: Marine Engineering

Secondary Industry: Engineering and Defence

Job Duties:

• Lead the design and development of electrical power systems for military and defence projects.
• Provide technical expertise in electrical power distribution, generation, and control systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project requirements are met.
• Conduct testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems to ensure performance and reliability.
• Stay up-to-date with industry standards and best practises in electrical power engineering.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
• Demonstrable experience in electrical power system design and implementation.
• Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in the military and defence sector.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical power system design and implementation.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Proficiency in electrical power distribution, generation, and control systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Previous experience working on defence-related projects.

Working Conditions:

• This role is based in Barrow-in-Furness, hybrid 2 days per fortnight on site
• Full-time hours are required, with the possibility of overtime during project deadlines.
• Inside IR35 contract
