We are looking ahead to new ways of working with the mental health trust, with a strong emphasis on co-location, collaboration and MDT working to support our vision etc and are looking for people to join us who share this vision. You will work closely with health and social care colleagues to support adults and carers eligible for assessment and care under the Care Act 2014.

This is an exciting time for social work in mental health. The Deputy Team Manager will play an important part in this transformation, helping to lead and support our social work force, acting as a strong role model.

The Deputy Team Manager role is pivotal in the support to the wider community mental health social work team and will be part of the management team offering you fantastic opportunities to grow and develop.

You will be responsible for overseeing day to day operational matters and support the Team Manager to ensure the Department meets its statutory and legal requirements. You will have knowledge and experience of undertaking statutory duties under the Care Act 2014, The Mental Capacity Act 2005 and other relevant legalisation and practice guidance. You will support staff to undertake assessments and reviews in line with this.

You will be required to chair a range of meetings including multi-disciplinary meetings and safeguarding meetings. You will provide professional guidance, supervision and leadership to Social Work staff. You will provide reflective and case load supervision to support their continued professional development.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual who has a passion for working with adults/older adults and strives to achieve the values and key principles of the organisation. You will have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of our customers’ needs and aspirations.

You will have experience of working with social work services and have a commitment to developing quality services, working in partnership with health colleagues, carers and other partners developing our approach. You will understand relevant Social Work legislation and good practice. You will have a passion in supporting, facilitating, and supporting transformation. You will be required to input and take part in the transformation agenda and ensure that the service and staff are represented and so your excellent communication skills are essential.

You will have an aptitude to support and mentor staff in the undertaking of relationship and strength-based practice. Guiding staff to facilitate wide-ranging support for individuals to achieve independence as they progress through their support journey.

You will be used to challenging and encouraging innovative practice, you will have experience of managing staff or understand how you will support staff to think differently. You will also have the skills to support the development of relationships with the universal and voluntary sector.

You should have the ability to lead, manage, organise, support, and maintain the use of information technology systems.
