We’re at the beginning of an exciting journey in Bury, transforming how we work with children and families. As a Team Manager in our IRO / CP Chair Team, you’ll play a key role in leading change, supporting staff, and improving outcomes for children and young people.
About the Role:You’ll lead a dedicated team of experienced Child Protection Chairs and Independent Reviewing Officers who are committed to ensuring children’s voices are heard and their plans are robust, timely, and effective. This role is central to our safeguarding unit, which operates two distinct services:
- Child Protection Chairs ensuring child protection plans are implemented and reviewed effectively.
- Independent Reviewing Officers building relationships with children in care and quality-assuring their care plans.
You’ll work closely with a supportive management team and be part of a service that values independence, integrity, and impact.
What We’re Looking For:- A qualified social worker with Social Work England (SWE) registration.
- Extensive experience as a team leader or manager within children’s social care, with a strong track record of working with children, young people, and families.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and its implications for the delivery of social work services to children and families.
- Highly developed interpersonal and caring skills to meet the complex needs of children, young people, and their families.
- Excellent analytical and judgement skills to interpret complex information and develop effective solutions and care plans.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- A commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of practice and leadership.
- Competitive salary: £52,413.21 £53,459.66 per annum.
