Overview
We are seeking to appoint one Assistant Educational Psychologists (AsEP) to join our team working across the Aylesbury Vale, Wycombe and Chiltern & South Buckinghamshire areas. They will provide support to Educational Psychologists (EPs) in schools and the wider community, as well as participating in the delivery and evaluation of programme interventions.

About us
Our large and talented team consists of Educational Psychologists, Assistant EPs, and Trainee EPs. The EPs are led by a dynamic leadership team of Seniors, Deputies and the Principal EP, providing excellent line management and good potential for progression within the service. We offer a hybrid model of consultation and assessment-based advice, blending face-to-face and remote working opportunities.

About the role
We wish to appoint an enthusiastic Assistant Educational Psychologist who is planning a future career as an Educational Psychologist. The successful candidate will support initiatives to promote children’s well-being and learning through early intervention and prevention. The Assistant Educational Psychologist may be asked to support Senior EPs, EPs and Trainee EPs in their work with schools, parents and other professionals. The role may also include some administrative tasks.

A programme of induction and training will be provided, offering excellent preparation for applying for professional educational psychology doctoral training programmes.

About you
You must possess a good psychology degree (2:1 or above) and Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership of the British Psychological Society prior to application. It is an essential requirement to have previous relevant experience of applying psychology to work with children and young people in educational or community settings. A driving licence and access to a car is also essential to the post.
