We are looking for a dedicated Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to support children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Special Educational Needs (SEN) at High Peak School. You will play a vital role in assessing, diagnosing, and delivering tailored interventions to help children develop their communication and language skills, enabling them to thrive in their learning environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of children and young pupils with a range of needs Speech and Language Communication Needs (SLCN) and complex needs associated with additional learning needs and ASC.
- Manage your own caseload and work flexibly, providing therapy services to children and young pupils according to clinical need and in close liaison with the highly specialist clinical team covering both schools.
- participate in multi-disciplinary meetings, staff meetings, supervision, training and annual appraisals.
- Working in collaboration with other Speech and Language Therapists and clinical team colleagues you will support the development of Speech and Language Therapy services across Kedleston Group.
Clinical supervision will be provided by internal Senior Speech and Language Therapists or funded externally.
What we’re looking for:
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
- UK HCPC Registration, and eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
- successful post registration practice and experience with young people (ideally experience of working with children with ASC needs

They teach and proactively support pupils who have been subjected to adverse childhood experiences, including trauma, toxic stress and associated mental wellbeing difficulties, aiming to break the cycle of adversity. Children and young people may also come to us because they are challenged by attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, dyslexia, and dyspraxia or moderate and specific learning difficulties.
High Peak School is part of Kedleston Group. We specialise in providing specialist education and care for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). These include autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
