Your New CompanyHays Education is working in partnership with a specialist independent school located in the peaceful countryside of Disley, Cheshire. The school supports children and young people aged 7 to 16 with a range of complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties. Your New JobAs a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with a specific pupil who requires additional support to access learning and manage their emotional and behavioural needs. You will collaborate with teachers, therapists, and the SENCO to implement tailored strategies that promote engagement, independence, and wellbeing. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing consistent 1:1 support to a pupil with an EHCP
- Supporting learning activities and behaviour management plans
- Encouraging emotional regulation and social development
- Promoting a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
- Assisting with transitions and daily routines
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ideally in a 1:1 setting
- A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
