Crynodeb
Flavourfresh Salads Limited is a commercial glasshouse grower, and packer, of premium quality tomatoes and soft fruit (strawberries and blackberries), supplying supermarket chains across the country.
We operate across 4 nursery sites, with the office headquarters located at: Aldergrove Centre in Banks, near Southport, PR9 8DX.
We are looking for an experienced and skilled Spray Operator, with FLT licence. The main purpose of this role is to mix and apply a range of crop protection products, pesticides, herbicides or fertilisers to our crops, using specialised spraying equipment. Part of this role is to operate forklift (FLT) to move various loads, as/when required. Due to the nature of the role, this post will require a great level of flexibility in both working days and hours.
PERSON:
• PA1 and PA6 qualifications required
• PA3, PA9 and PACS qualifications desired
• Proven previous experience of spraying crop is required
• Basic knowledge of crop protection products
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining various types of spray equipment, including understanding nozzle selection, is essential
• FLT licence is required
• Basic level of English
• Self-motivated, reliable, adaptable
• Flexible with working hours and days
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physical fitness and stamina
• H&S and food safety aware
• Attention to detail
• Versatility, troubleshooting
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Mixing chemicals, and their application
• Spraying equipment operations and their calibration
• Bio Control application
• Record keeping and safety compliance
• Maintain work area, chemical storage area, and equipment in a condition that promotes good safety practices and is compliant with COSHH Regulations
• Using Forklift (FLT) to load, unload and move around fruit and any other loads, as/when required, in safe and timely manner, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage
• Any other duties as reasonably requested
