Shift Support Operative

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the Operations team at Lancashire Renewables Ltd. working on a
5-shift system at our Leyland facility.

What you’ll be doing

The role of a Shift Support Operative at Lancashire Renewables Limited involves providing essential, flexible support across a
range of operational functions to ensure the smooth and continuous running of the company's activities. Working in line with
company policies and strict safety and environmental standards, the operative will contribute to the efficient and compliant
delivery of services, adapting readily to meet changing business needs.

Key responsibilities include supporting health, safety, and environmental compliance; assisting with waste processing and SCADA
system monitoring; recording downtime; and supporting weighbridge activities. The role also involves maintaining site security,
performing cleaning duties, attending meetings and training, and keeping accurate operational records.



Overall, the Shift Support Operative plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day functionality and safety of the facility.

What you will bring



Whilst training and development opportunities are provided and encouraged for our roles, the following skills and knowledge are
desired:

* Accuracy and attention to detail while operating the weighbridge, ensuring all vehicle movements and waste transactions are
correctly recorded.
* Strong coordination skills to work closely with the Logistics Controller, site team, and external contractors, supporting
smooth and safe operations.
* Efficiency to the management of deliveries, vehicle registrations, driver inductions, and water tanker collections.
* Professionalism as the first point of contact for site visitors and telephone enquiries.
* Technical awareness to support SCADA monitoring, emergency responses, and operation of CCTV and radio systems.
* Commitment to safety, following all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality procedures, including correct use of PPE.
* Flexibility and teamwork to assist with waste processing, site cleaning, and other operational tasks as needed.
* A proactive approach to supporting site security and resolving incidents in collaboration with the security team.
* A safety-first mindset, identifying hazards, maintaining cleanliness, and promoting a well-organised working environment.
* Diligence in maintaining accurate records and keeping documentation up to date.

Who are we?

Lancashire Renewables Ltd was established for the operation and management of the two waste treatment facilities built for the
Lancashire Waste Contract.



Our two facilities in Thornton and Leyland are manned 365 days a year. Both sites can process over 5,000 tonnes of residual (black
bin bag) waste per week and divert 95% of this material away from landfill.



Our aim is to achieve a sustainable future for Lancashire by providing services to process biodegradable and non-biodegradable
community waste and our people are vital in helping us achieve this.
