You need:
• to have a valid driving license and be willing to support service users using your own vehicle
• to be a good team player
• be able to work as a lone worker
• be sensitive to the needs of individuals
• to come with a positive can-do attitude with a sensible approach to keeping people safe and have enthusiastic empathetic personality
• to have strong communication skills to motivate those around you
• have an independent outlook and forward thinking.
You should:
• be flexible in your approach to work and be able to work as part of a team, from Monday to Saturday, depending on shift pattern (day shifts).
• have a passion for delivering high quality support to vulnerable adults within their own homes
• could work independently and as a productive member of a team
• can remain calm under pressure
Your responsibilities would include following individual care plans, one-to-one support and in some cases two-to-one support, medication management, helping with day-to-day tasks (which may include personal care) and promoting independent living within the local community.
The ideal candidates would have a relevant qualification (Scottish Vocational Qualification in Social Services and Healthcare), but this is not essential as training will be given during your induction and ongoing throughout your career with us.
It is desirable that applicants have experience working in a care and support environment, but not essential.
We will require an update/registration of Protection of Vulnerable Groups scheme to work with vulnerable adults and will need to ensure compliance with SSSC registration.
