About the Role – Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant

As a Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in raising student achievement in Maths, Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), Computer Science, or Engineering. You will support subject teachers in delivering engaging lessons, provide tailored academic support, and gradually take on more responsibility as your confidence grows.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering small-group and one-to-one academic interventions.
• Supporting learners across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5).
• Assisting in lesson planning and resourcing with subject specialists.
• Helping students prepare for GCSE and A-Level exams through revision and study support.
• Gaining practical insight into various teaching strategies and learning needs.

Who We’re Looking For – Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant Profile

This opportunity is ideal for graduates who are passionate about education and want to help young people thrive in STEM. You should have:

• A 2:1 degree or above in a STEM discipline (e.g., Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Computer Science).
• Strong subject knowledge and academic confidence.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• A proactive, enthusiastic, and professional approach.
• Experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, outreach programmes) is desirable but not essential.
• A long-term ambition to pursue a career in teaching or education.
