We are seeking a highly motivated and adaptable individual to join our team as a Resilience and Business Continuity Support Officer on a fixed-term contract for three years. As the Resilience and Business Continuity Support Officer, you will be responsible for providing administrative support for resilience and, in the main, business continuity to the Leicestershire County Council Resilience and Business Continuity Team. You will help ensure that critical services can continue in the event of any disruption, whether it be natural hazards, technical failures, or any other unforeseen circumstances.
Experience in setting up and running the administrative function of a busy team is essential. While some prior experience in resilience and business field continuity is desirable, we welcome applicants who may not have direct experience in this area but possess relevant transferable skills, such as project management and risk assessment.

About the Role

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide resilience and business continuity support to the Council to assist in ensuring that critical services can continue in the event of any disruption, whether natural disasters, technical failures, or other unforeseen circumstances.
  • Work with several Council departments and teams to develop, implement and maintain administrative support for resilience and business continuity management and strategies
  • Assist in assessing risks and developing strategies to mitigate them
  • Assist and eventually help deliver Council staff training for their preparation to respond to any emergency
  • Provide administration for the monitoring and review of business continuity plans regularly to ensure they remain up to date and effective
  • Provide administration for the coordinating the testing and exercising of resilience and business continuity plans across all local authorities
  • Longer term, the successful applicant will have access to relevant personal training relating to the broadening of their knowledge of both business continuity and resilience

About You

To apply for this post, you must have:

  • Level 3 qualification in Business Administration or similar experience
  • Ability to quickly learn on the job relating to business continuity and resilience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels also, with diverse individuals and groups
  • Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail
