The role involves managing entry-level analyst schemes (e.g. apprenticeships, graduate fast stream), leading recruitment campaigns across all levels, and developing learning products based on clear needs analysis. It includes overseeing the delivery and continuous improvement of training, collaborating with HR and analyst teams to address resourcing and capability issues, and line managing a People & Resourcing Officer to ensure smooth recruitment, onboarding, and support processes across the Analysis Directorate. Strong relationship-building and sound judgement are key.

Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:

Managing analyst entry-level analyst talent schemes within the department, e.g. apprenticeships, graduate fast stream. Work with managers to ensure posts offer suitable development exposure and oversee arrangements for post rotations and scheme assessments (supported by scheme HR leads).Leading analyst recruitment campaigns, including batched campaigns and entry level through to senior leader recruitment exercises. Gather input from vacancy holders in order to develop a sound understanding of role needs and the workforce market; use this to develop clear engaging role information and marketing strategies, and effective selection approaches.Lead the development of data and analysis learning products (courses, curated learning resources, etc), in liaison with subject specialists. Undertake effective learning needs analysis exercises in order to develop sound insights into learning requirements. Use this to build, develop and procure effective engaging learning materials.Manage the business-as-usual delivery of analytical learning products, ensuring effective marketing, evaluation and continuous improvement.Build strong relationships with analyst team leads, DfT HR specialists and cross-government analyst professions HR teams. Supported by your manager, develop a sound understanding of capability and resourcing issues related to DfT analysts, so that you are able to make well-judged decisions on issues that arise, acting in a manner that is discreet, fair and meets the resourcing needs of the department.Line manage a People & Resourcing Officer, so as to ensure effective administration support for Analysis Directorate (c.100 staff) recruitment, onboarding and IT requests. Support them to navigate complex processes, knowing how to address or escalate tricky issues. Ensure consistent processing of casework and contribute to a team culture of supportive feedback, mutual assistance and great customer service.
