About us
The RAF (Royal Air Forces) Association has a clear objective: to help sustain a resilient and empowered RAF community. Through our sector-leading welfare and wellbeing services, we offer a wide range of support to serving personnel, veterans and their families. With thousands of members and supporters across the UK and further afield, plus hundreds of dedicated employees and volunteers, we have the network and experience needed for a personal one-to-one approach. We work together to make sure no one is ever left behind.
About the role
This is not a generic marketing role! Leading a small but dynamic marketing team who achieve big things, you’ll have an abundance of creative flair and energy in planning, designing and delivering marketing strategies and campaigns. The role involves owning and managing multiple relationships to ensure our campaigns are built around data driven insight, reaching the right audience, with the right messaging, on the right channels, which ultimately deliver results. Previous project management experience will ensure you are able to plan and execute a range of projects in parallel to meet committed timescales, within a budget. Primary responsibilities include;
Develop, grow and retain our supporter base to maximise income generation.
Manage the Supporter Marketing Officers, providing insight and experience, ensuring they have clear, measurable objectives and a good understanding of deliverables and KPIs.
Act as the SME for individual giving activity and maintain an in-depth knowledge of supporter experience and journeys.
Designing mutually agreed activities to meet desired outcomes and ensuring plans are harmonised within the overall marketing and communications plan.
Oversee the management of the lottery service to ensure it’s delivered by the External Lottery Manager (a third-party supplier) to contracted standards, adhering to current legislation and other regulatory requirements.
Work with wider marketing team to provide key insights related to performance and use this as part of evaluation, forecasting and monitoring activity.
Deliver compelling fundraising appeals that align with organisational objectives and strategy which drive measurable results.
It is highly recommended that you read the full role profile and person specification which is available to download on our website www.rafa.org.uk
About you
Our ideal colleague will hold a post graduate degree in a related discipline or have strong equivalent delivery related experience. You’ll have a background in fundraising and membership acquisition and retention, ideally within the third sector and have strong experience of planning and managing personalised supporter journeys and digital marketing campaigns which maximise supporter value and retention. With strong IT skills, you’ll be confident in using CRM (we use Salesforce) and have the ability to use data and insight to inform decision making and influence approach. In addition to the day-to-day responsibilities, you and your team will have ample opportunities to represent the RAF Association at fun and exciting events including RAFA Rides, RAF town shows and challenge events such as The London Marathon.
Based within the wider Engagement and Marketing Team, we offer hybrid working with a requirement to attend our office in Leicester 2-3 days per week.
