Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with higher needs?
We are recruiting for a full-time TA to join a well-resourced, inclusive primary school in the B33 area of Birmingham. This role is based within the school supporting pupils with higher needs including autism, communication challenges and global developmental delay.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with EHCPs
- Implement personalised learning and care plans
- Use visual aids, communication tools, and sensory strategies
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO
- Help maintain a calm, nurturing environment for learning
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum 6 months experience supporting children with SEND, ideally within a resource base or specialist setting
- Confident using Makaton, PECS, or other AAC tools (desirable)
- Patience, resilience and a genuine commitment to inclusive education
- Able to commit to the full academic year
