Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Openshaw, Manchester
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time
Salary: £105+ dependant on experience
An OFSTED Outstanding primary school in Openshaw is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is a full-time position within a highly supportive and inclusive early years setting, where the needs of every child are a priority.
The school is known for its nurturing environment, strong leadership, and inclusive ethos. With a rising number of children with additional needs in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), they are looking for a confident practitioner who can offer consistent, high-quality support.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience working in early years, with a solid understanding of child development and early intervention strategies. While experience in an alternate or specialist provision is desirable, it is not essential. However, EYFS experience is non-negotiable due to the developmental stage and complex needs of the pupils.
You will be supporting children with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autism, speech and language delays, and social, emotional, and sensory needs. The role will involve a mix of 1:1 and small group work, close collaboration with class teachers and the SENCO, and a creative, patient approach to early years learning and support.
A calm, nurturing attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to follow individualised learning and behaviour plans are essential. A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service is required for this role.
In return, the school offers a welcoming staff team and a chance to make a real impact in the critical early stages of a child's learning journey.
If you're an experienced Early Years practitioner with a passion for supporting children with additional needs, this could be the perfect role for you.
Apply now via Senploy to be considered for this fantastic opportunity in a truly outstanding school.
This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS (child and adult workforce), satisfactory references, and full compliance with KCSIE (2024) guidance and safer recruitment standards. Overseas police checks may be required where applicable. Educato Limited is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Educato Limited acts as an employment business in relation to this vacancy.
