Are you an experienced Health & Safety professional with a strong background in construction? Hays Health & Safety are working with a well-established contractor in the Preston area who is seeking a proactive and confident Health & Safety Advisor to join their team.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who can hit the ground running and is passionate about maintaining and promoting a positive safety culture across multiple construction sites. You'll be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, conducting site inspections, and supporting operational teams with best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with H&S regulations
- Provide advice and guidance to site teams on all aspects of health and safety
- Assist in the development and implementation of risk assessments and method statements
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, producing detailed reports and recommendations
- Support the delivery of toolbox talks and safety briefings
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement in health and safety performance
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in a Health & Safety role within the construction industry
- Valid CSCS card
- NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate
- Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations and site safety practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple sites
£35,000 is on offer for the right candidate with the opportunity for funded professional development.
