The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) invests heavily in our digital workforce, building a highly skilled and in-house capability within our IT Services Directorate (ITS).
We have a central team that brings together workforce planning, recruitment and onboarding to support the development and growth of a modern digital profession within the Agency.
We’re now looking to appoint a Lead Business Support Manager that will drive and lead the ITS Recruitment Team in line with DVLA’s strategic approach to digital recruitment and workforce capability.
As a Lead Business Support Manager you will be responsible for designing and running the processes that ensure DVLA can attract, develop, and retain the digital talent it needs.
This is a leadership role with both operational and strategic scope, sitting at the heart of the IT Directorates drive to build a more skilled, sustainable digital workforce.
You will lead a team of recruitment professionals managing end-to-end recruitment campaigns across ITS’s workforce, defining recruitment strategies whilst ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. Ensuring routes to market are optimised and candidates assessed and onboarded in a consistent, timely and inclusive way.
The role is responsible for developing resourcing strategies and creating and implementing innovative recruitment practices to maintain a competitive advantage and support DVLA’s Digital employer brand.
There is a strong stakeholder relationship element within this role, working closely with members of the Senior Leadership team, Head of Digital Capabilities, Hiring Managers, and colleagues from HR, Communications, Finance and Commercial Services, owning the relationship with third party recruitment suppliers to coordinate workforce activity, unblock risks, and provide senior-level assurance on progress.
Responsibilities
- To effectively drive and lead the ITS recruitment team in line with the Agency government digital agenda and transformation portfolio.
- To effectively drive and lead ITS’s management of performance and quality of a comprehensive recruitment service, being accountable for driving the delivery of the service against objectives and performance.
- To ensure ITS organisational learning and development opportunities are fully exploited in order to enhance organisational capability driving initiatives forward.
- To ensure the efficient and effective running of all HR recruitment related policies. Ensure all procedures are dealt with in line with the agency policies and procedures.
- Developing and running successful recruitment campaigns via a range of sourcing routes, monitoring outcomes and attrition and recruiting to keep at Approved Staffing Levels.
