Crynodeb
To provide clinical expertise, acting in a variety of specialist roles, as defined byprofessional scope, to include; an Advanced MSK Clinical Practitioner (ACP), a FirstContact Practitioner (FCP) and a Specialist Spinal Triage Practitioner (SSTP) as the servicerequires. This will involve seeing patients without prior contact with their GP in order toestablish a timely and accurate diagnosis and management plan. To effectively manage patients with Musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions within Primary Caretherefore reducing inappropriate referrals into Secondary Care Trauma & Orthopaedics,improving use of imaging, improving conversion to intervention, reducing variation oftreatments offered and reducing waste in the form of ineffective interventions. The individual will provide highly specialised MSK assessment and treatment of patientspresenting with a range of MSK conditions. This will include requesting and interpreting appropriate investigations and the use of joint and soft tissue injections to aid in the diagnosis and management of the patients condition. To be responsible for the clinical leadership, teaching, mentoring and appraising of other MSK Physiotherapyand ACP staff (ACPs, Physiotherapists and MSK Assistants).
