Crynodeb
The post holder will participate in Interstitial lung disease (ILD), Lung Nodule and Lung Cancer MDT meetings. UHCW participates in the Targeted Lung Health Check programme and participation in the Screening Review Meeting (SRM) is also expected. There will be an opportunity to train in, and report, Lung Cancer Screening low-dose CTs, which are currently being supported by AI based computer aided detection (Veye Lung Nodules). CT guided lung biopsy sessions will be arranged on a weekly basis. There is also a requirement to provide ENT specialist imaging services. This includes cross sectional head and neck CT/MRI reporting and participation in weekly ENT MDTs on a rotational basis. There is also an expectation that the postholder will perform specialist neck ultrasound imaging and FNA/biopsy. At present, the ENT biopsy service is delivered by two consultant radiologists and a specialist Band 8A sonographer/advanced practitioner, who undertakes ultrasound guided FNAs of lesions in the neck. There will be opportunities to support further training of advanced practitioners/ sonographers in this role, to expand the services.
