Crynodeb
In Wessex we want to create a diverse workplace where people are respected, valued and listened to. We’re all different, and by embracing Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) we can become an equal opportunity employer where jointly we all grow and learn together.
It is our ambition to champion diversity through building a workforce as diverse as the communities we serve.
This role, which is in the Operations Department, is to provide management, supervision and support of asset operation and maintenance activities.
Key activities comprise:
- Select, plan and manage contractors to deliver our annual routine and intermittent maintenance programme within prescribed time/cost/quality constraints.
- Understand and assure asset maintenance quality standards.
- Develop and deliver an optimised maintenance programme which utilises a blended model of internal and external delivery that seeks to contract out low cost/low consequence (e.g. grass or hedge cutting) or specialist activities (confined space survey or areal tree work) to achieve maximum value for money.
- The management of external delivery through setting up and administering contracts with our Framework suppliers, using NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contracts; assuring time/cost/quality standards and health, safety, wellbeing and environment standards.
- Reduce risk for the Environment Agency in asset operation and asset response through the strengthening of supplier support in asset operation as well as supporting Field staff in excising with or without supply partner participation.
- Communicate effectively with others in everyday working relationships. Able to build cross-functional network of colleagues and peers internally and externally.
- Build and utilise a network of Area and National colleagues to share, disseminate and embed best practice.
- Active participant in steering groups and National projects that affect the future ways of working within Field Operations.
- Contribute to our incident response capabilities by holding a duty role.
