Crynodeb
To provide a high-quality social work service to children, young people, and their families with a focus on safeguarding, promoting welfare, and improving outcomes. The role involves managing complex cases, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to service development within the Family Support & Safeguarding team.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake assessments of children and families using statutory frameworks, including Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children.
Develop, implement, and review robust care plans in partnership with children, families, and other professionals.
Lead on safeguarding investigations and participate in legal proceedings, including the preparation of reports and court attendance.
Act as lead professional in multi-agency settings to ensure coordinated support for children and families.
Provide supervision, mentoring, and guidance to less experienced social workers, students, and support staff.
Maintain up-to-date and accurate case recordings and documentation in line with legal and statutory requirements.
Participate in case audits, practice development sessions, and performance reviews to support service improvement.
Promote anti-discriminatory practice and champion the voice of the child in all assessments and interventions.
Ensure compliance with local safeguarding policies, procedures, and national legislative frameworks (e.g., Children Act 1989/2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018).
