Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Accountant to join a friendly and dedicated team. Based just outside Abingdon, they're proud to be known as “the accountants that care”, with a strong reputation for responsive service, practical advice, and genuine client support.

The Role
They are now looking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their small, friendly team. The role will be hands-on and varied, offering the right candidate an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a portfolio of clients while working closely with the practice owner.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships
- Prepare personal and corporation tax returns
- Oversee bookkeeping and VAT returns (prepared in-house or by clients)
- Liaise directly with clients to provide advice and answer queries
- Assist with tax planning for individuals and business owners
- Review work prepared by junior staff and support their development
- Contribute to improving internal systems and client workflows
About You
They're looking for someone with:
- 5+ years experience in practice (essential)
- ACA / ACCA qualified or QBE
- Strong working knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks and/or Sage
- Excellent communication skills and a genuine desire to help clients
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple deadlines
- A willingness to get involved in improving processes and shaping the future of the practice
