Main Duties Work closely with the members of the Neurodevelopmental Pathway Team to develop, demonstrate and modify ADHD services provided to children, young people and their families. 2. Be a member of the multidisciplinary teams, working collaboratively with clinical colleagues within the NDP services to prioritise, plan and organise daily workload, ensuring that daily tasks and on-going workloads are prioritised and completed within agreed and acceptable timescales. 3. Communicate effectively with children and young people to explain health screening procedures and offer reassurance and encouragement to take up the service using a range of communication skills and accessing alternative communication systems where necessary. 4. Undertake measurement of height, weight, blood pressure, and other routine clinical procedures and transportation of equipment needed as required, following appropriate training. 5. To alert the appropriate nurse of any changes in a childs situation/general condition. With guidance, assess progress, report findings and make suggestions to the nurse. 6. To participate in regular locality meetings with the NDP teams. Assisting with patients with additional needs displaying hyperactive and impulsive behaviours in the clinical setting, to support them in being able to partake in the assessment process (learning disabilities, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), mental health). Ensure equipment is regularly maintained and calibrated in line with Trust policies. Record accurately the results of clinical measurements/tests in children/young peoples records in accordance with the record keeping guidelines laid down by the Trust. Be a part of and assist with tests required for the assessment of ADHD and ASD Be aware of and follow Child Protection procedures, and maintain confidentiality in line with Trust policies. To report any concerns to the Clinical lead, Team leader or NDP nurses as required, ensuring accurate documentation. Undertake data inputting and produce simple computerised data as required. Collate clinic data and provide figures as required to Clinical Lead,Team leader and NDP Nurses. Maybe expected to supervise Band 2 and Band 3 members of the Team. Undertake any other duties relevant to the post under the direction of the Community Paediatrician or specialist nurses. 17. Communicate with families whilst waiting in a timely manner, providing them with the most up to date information available. 18. Investigate and understand local support offers around the city. 19. Support families to navigate the various sources of support, including promotion of local support offers within their communities. 20. Map and build relationships with local Peer Support Groups where available and support the development of Peer Support Groups where there are gaps. 21. Be involved with the production of training and information materials for children, families and professionals, that are accessible and neuro-affirmative. . 22. Gather feedback from workshops and other activities, and following assessments and contact with the service, to ensure the needs of those accessing the service are being met and positive impact is realised. Contribute to and coordinate service evaluations. Administrative Duties and Responsibilities: The post holder will be required to competently use the email and IT systems for correspondence, and to develop and maintain office systems such as spreadsheets and data bases. To complete timely accurate written and electronic records of patients care, maintaining service standards and following departmental clinical record keeping guidelines. The post holder will also be required to input activity into the IT system. To deal with incoming and outgoing correspondence, telephone calls and enquiries in an appropriate manner. To be responsible for maintaining an accurate departmental inventory of equipment and identifying any equipment that needs replacing or alternatives are available. To assist the team in collection of data, quality assurance and clinical audit conducted by the Department. To undertake other duties commensurate with this grade of post in agreement with the relevant line manager. To minimise the Trusts environmental impact wherever possible, including recycling, switching off lights, computers, monitors and equipment when not in use. Helping to reduce paper waste by minimising printing/copying and reducing water usage, reporting faults and heating/cooling concerns promptly and minimising travel. Where the role includes the ordering and use of supplies or equipment the post holder will consider the environmental impact of purchases.
