Job Title:
Approved Electrician
Location:
Kensington, West London
Job Purpose:
To carry out work on a new build commercial project in the west London area, working on site installing electrical work throughout the project.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, test, commission, and maintain electrical systems in accordance with current IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
Diagnose and repair electrical faults in a safe and timely manner.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, technical diagrams, and specifications.
Supervise and mentor junior electricians and apprentices.
Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and risk assessments.
Accurately complete and submit required documentation such as test certificates, timesheets, and job reports.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and other trades as required.
Ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 – Inspection and Testing.
AM2 Certification.
Current ECS Gold Card (Approved Electrician).
Sound knowledge of BS7671 (18th Edition).
Experience in a similar role, including working on new builds, refurbishments, or maintenance projects.
Desirable:
IPAF
Experience working with fire alarms, emergency lighting, data cabling, and/or renewable technologies.
Skills & Competencies:
Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Commitment to continuous professional development.
Working Conditions:
Full-time, permanent position.
May involve working at height or in confined spaces.
Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required.
Travel to multiple sites as needed.
