Allowance payment of £4,250 for a Non-Executive Director and Finance lead/Chair of Audit Committee (gross figure).
We are seeking a Non-Executive Director with finance, governance, or audit expertise from a commercial background to serve on the Boards of Blackpool Tourism Ltd (BTL) and Blackpool Heritage and Museum Trust (BHMT). This role also includes Chairing the Audit Committee across both organisations.
As the Audit Committee Chair, you will lead on audit and governance, and should have a solid understanding of good governance and risk management practice. The ability to operate at a strategic level and scrutinise performance effectively is essential for the wider duties on the company boards.
The Boards will have responsibility for Blackpool Tower, Madame Tussauds and the Dungeons attractions , the Sandcastle Waterpark, together with the Visit Blackpool tourism function on behalf of the Council (BTL) and the Showtown Museum (BHMT). This is at a time of an exciting future for both organisations with a shared ambition to celebrate and promote Blackpool’s unique heritage, culture and visitor experience—working together to create a vibrant, inclusive and sustainable destination that honours the past, enriches the present and inspires the future for residents and visitors alike.
BTL and BHMT are organisations with strong values that promote diversity and are committed to equality and inclusivity. We are particularly keen to welcome applications from women, people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities and younger people.
The role of Non-Executive Director requires a time commitment of attendance at a minimum of eight meetings per year across both organisations, plus training and away days as required. The role of Audit Committee Chair will entail as a minimum an additional four meetings per year.
