Summary

The DBS Financial Recognition Scheme (FRS) Team work closely with MOD partners to deliver end-to-end processing of applications and payments made to the MOD LGBT Financial Recognition Scheme by Veterans who were affected by the ban on LGBT+ individuals serving in the Armed Forces from 1967 to 2000. This Scheme which launched Dec 24 following the publication of the LGBT Independent Review which amongst its 49 recommendations, recommended that MOD provide a scheme to deliver financial payments to those who were affected.

The role requires you to:

Manage emails, documentation and applications sensitively, ensuring scheme rules are applied, applications or enquiries are processed and prioritised accurately.

Ensure accurate record keeping of applicant case files and within the FRS case management system, to meet PI’s and SLA’s.

Work at pace but with accuracy to deliver outstanding service; accurately interpret information to make decisions within your areas of work; attention to detail and accurate policy-compliant record-keeping / audit trails are essential ensuring best practice business processes, training and decisions are active, followed and fully documented to meet any audits.

Work with colleagues and partners, responding quickly to system changes and information updates, attending regular management and stakeholder meetings.

Complete ad-hoc agreed tasks when required and work closely with colleagues and our partners to prioritise work.

Direct Line Management of up to 4 staff members, managing in alignment with MOD people policies, processes and systems may be required.

This role requires meticulous attention to detail, decision making and communication skills, collaboration with colleagues and partners with the ability to be flexible to the needs of the business and diversify into other roles/functions within or outside of the FR Scheme.

There may be a requirement to travel, overnight stays and attendance at permanent duty station on specified days or at short notice may be required.
