Our Assistant Food & Beverage Manager is a key position in the hotel, you will be required to support the Food & Beverage Manager across all outlets. Through positive and proactive leadership you will be responsible for supporting the training and nurturing of team members to deliver the brand standards, which in turn will support our overall goal of delivering an efficient, effective and profitable service that meets revenue and cost targets.
This roll is responsible for ensuring that we bring to life the voco brand standards throughout all F&B outlets including breakfast, The Lair Bar & Restaurant and our meeting and event space and you will report directly to the Food & Beverage Manager.
To succeed as our Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, you will need:
- Food & Beverage duty management and supervisory experience for 1+ years in a hotel property of similar size & standard.
- To be able to perform a variety of activities as needed across all food and beverage departments, as a minimum; lead/supervise a large-scale meeting, wedding or social event or host and supervise service across all meal periods or supervise the service behind the bar(s).
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and mentor a team
- Overseeing the food and beverage department in the absence of the F&B Manager, ensuring a consistently outstanding level of service is delivered to all guests and diners
- Promoting a culture that anticipates customer needs wherever possible, and to react to these to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Establishing and achieving quality and guest satisfaction goal.
- Keeping your knowledge upto date, enabling you to make recommendations to our guests, but also the F&B Manager of new trends and opportunities.
- Working the F&B Manager to monitoring budgets and controlling expenses and labour costs.
- Proactively engaging in marketing your hotels restaurant and meeting spaces, both internally and externally.
- Drive promotions that deliver outstanding F&B experiences for our guests.
What you’ll bring to the team
An ideal candidate for this role should possess the following attributes:
- Demonstrable success in a previous Food and Beverage Supervisory position.
- A passion for the Food and Beverage industry and keeping up to date with trends.
- A strong leadership, capable of motivating and influencing others to work to defined procedures and standards.
- Numerate, computer literate and able to manage resources within agreed budgets.
- Good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety procedures.
