An exciting post has risen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Nurse to join the innovative Macmillan Specialist Palliative Care Team (SPCT), working in York Teaching Hospital, Community Services.

The successful candidate will be joining a well established team of Clinical Nurse Specialists, Lead Nurse and Consultants in Palliative Medicine, who provide specialist palliative care expertise across the acute and community settings. The team values close working relationships with medical, nursing and social health care colleagues, and the local hospice provider.

We have a firm commitment to the education and training of others, and promoting quality and excellence in palliative, and end of life care, across York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Working pattern: Including weekends.

Please note - if you would like your application to be considered for secondment, you must secure agreement from your line manager beforehand that you can be released to undertake the role.

INTERVIEWS FOR THIS POST WILL BE HELD ON 18TH JULY.

For this Band 6 post, we are keen to appoint a team orientated, highly motivated and experienced nurse, who has expert specialist palliative care knowledge, advanced communication skills and established emotional resilience.

The successful post holder will have a high level of autonomy in the management of their caseload, and will need to be a skilled decision maker and able to prioritise workload.

The team provides a 7 day service, and this post requires weekend working on a rota basis. The ability to meet the travel requirements of the post is essential.
