We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Caerphilly to assist with the appointment of a Community Tutor, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £18- £25 per hour
Summary:
The Community Tutor will deliver accredited education programmes to learners unable to access mainstream schooling due to various personal or educational needs. Operating in flexible settings across the borough, the tutor works closely with host schools, partner agencies, and families to support learning, monitor progress, and promote positive learner outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Deliver accredited and personalised education programmes to learners outside mainstream education.
Teach across a range of subject areas, including to GCSE standard.
Assess, record, and report on learner achievements and monitor targets.
Work with other agencies to coordinate appropriate educational support.
Work as part of the Community Education Team and in close contact with partner schools and organisations.
Uphold professional standards and Council policies.
Qualifications:
Degree and PGCE qualified
Registered with GTCW (General Teaching Council for Wales)
Essentials:
Experience working in educational settings and managing pupil behaviour
Willingness to travel across the County Borough and beyond
Experience teaching in school settings
Ability to teach to GCSE level
Experience using data for assessment and monitoring
Please note:
You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
You should have right to work in U.K
This role requires an Enhanced DBS
