Customer Service / Bookkeeper | Morningside, Edinburgh | Full Time | Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm | Up to £22,222 per year (commensurate with experience)

Are you the right person for the job?

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in bookkeeping and customer service
• Experience in a small firm of Chartered Accountants (preferred) or in the Business Services/Advisory sector
• Strong knowledge of VAT, payroll, and self-assessment
• Confident with cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks highly desirable)
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A proactive and customer-focused mindset
• Skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising tasks effectively, and meeting tight deadlines without compromising on quality

What will your role look like?

• Provide bookkeeping and support services to a wide range of clients
• Manage accounts payable and ensure timely invoice processing
• Run monthly payroll and handle VAT returns and self-assessments
• Prepare monthly reconciliations and assist with management reporting
• Use and advise on cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks)
• Respond to client queries with professionalism and clarity
• Support clients with software implementation and training
• Collaborate with internal teams and help streamline workflows
• Stay current on accounting trends and software updates
