About Seashell Trust

Originally founded in 1823, Seashell Trust is a nationally recognised and registered charity based in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport. The trust consists of the Royal School Manchester (RSM), Royal College Manchester (RCM), 17 residential homes, outreach, and health & family services. Based on one site, we provide care and education for children and young people (up to 25 years old) with severe, profound, and complex learning difficulties and disabilities, sensory impairment, communication disorders and autism.

We are proud to have dedicated teams of healthcare professionals based on site to support the children and young people in our school, college and residential settings with their individual ECHPs, and are excited to be recruiting a Practising Physiotherapist to work within our friendly and supportive Ofsted & CQC registered multi-disciplinary health team. In this role you will be working with children and young adults across both our school and college and will report to the Lead Physiotherapist.


Requirements:

· Registration to practice as a Physiotherapist with the HCPC

· Registered Member of the CSP

· Recognised Physiotherapist degree qualification or equivalent

· Experience of working with children and / or young people with profound and complex learning disabilities and physical disabilities

· A good understanding of the communication needs of people with exceptional complex disabilities including deafness, MSI and autism

· Ability to work independently to deliver, implement and evaluate physiotherapy programmes and take the lead on improving processes to develop the service

· Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team

· Previous line management experience of newly qualified Physiotherapists and Technical Instructors

· Experienced in providing supervision to newly qualified Physiotherapists

· Ability to evidence continued professional development

In addition to the above we are also looking for someone who has a genuine passion & interest in growing their career in a role that is focused on supporting children and young people with varying and complex needs. This is a physical role and will involve active participation in rebound therapy and hydrotherapy sessions.
