Pay Rate: £19.78ph

Contract Length: 3 months with potential extension

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day Mon-Fri)

Location: Norwich NR4 7UY





Our Client is seeking a highly skilled and proactive IT Data & Telecoms Engineer to join their dynamic IT Services team. This is a key technical role, reporting to the Network Services Manager, that will give you the opportunity to design, implement, and maintain critical IT infrastructure, including data networks, telephony, and security systems across multiple Trust sites.



Job Role:


Take the technical lead on new network and telecoms projects in collaboration with the Project Management Office.


Design, install, and maintain complex data, voice, and security systems that are vital to delivering high-quality patient care.


Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues, escalating where appropriate to ensure excellent service delivery.


Monitor, analyse, and optimise network performance using advanced diagnostic tools.


Provide 2nd and 3rd line support via the IT Service Desk and contribute to the team’s on-call rota.


Act as a technical consultant, offering guidance to senior managers and other departments on infrastructure improvements.


Drive the adoption of ITIL best practices and help raise service standards across the department.



Essential Requirements:



Strong technical knowledge in data networking, telephony systems, and IT security principles.


A structured and analytical approach to problem-solving and performance monitoring.


Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – able to explain complex IT concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.


The ability to work independently, manage conflicting priorities, and remain calm under pressure.


A ‘can-do’ attitude with a commitment to personal development and continuous improvement.




Qualifications:


Educated to degree level in a computing, engineering, or technical discipline


Cisco CCNA or equivalent


Checkpoint CCSE (Desirable)


Mitel 3000 IM&T (Desirable)


ITIL Foundation certification




Experience, Skills and Knowledge:


Extensive experience of working in large network environments


Experience in delivering standards and documentation


Experience managing own project deliverables


Experience of providing an out-of-hours support service to meet business needs


Up-to-date with current IT developments, standards, and applications


Extreme (Enterasys) LAN/WLAN infrastructure


Network Access Control, Policy Manager, and Pureview


Checkpoint Firewalls


Mitel 3300 IP Controllers, Nu-Point Messenger, MiVoice Border Gateway, SIP


SolarWinds NPM and NTA (Desirable)


In-depth knowledge of current Networking, Security, and Telecoms systems and services


Excellent communication skills – oral and written


Excellent organisational and project management skills


Strong understanding of delivering outstanding customer service


Valid driving license
