Are you a passionate culinary leader ready to take charge of a brand-new kitchen from day one? At Glencorse Care Home, a purpose-built luxury facility opening soon in the vibrant Greenlaw Mains community, we are looking for an inspiring Head Chef to shape our dining experience and make a real difference to the lives of our residents.

This is a unique opportunity to join our commissioning team and help build a kitchen culture rooted in quality, nutrition, and care. Your culinary expertise and leadership will ensure every meal served nourishes both body and soul, supporting residents’ health and happiness.

What We Offer

What You Will Do
As Head Chef, you will lead and inspire your kitchen team, crafting delicious, nutritious meals that meet our residents’ dietary needs and preferences. You will work closely with the Group Executive Chef and Home Manager to plan seasonal menus that balance quality and budget, while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and food safety. Your role includes managing stock, organising staff rotas, and delivering food hygiene training to the wider care team. Your commitment to cleanliness, safety, and teamwork will create a warm, welcoming dining environment where residents truly feel cared for.

What We’re Looking For

  • Culinary qualification such as City & Guilds 706 Parts 1 & 2 (achieved or working towards)
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing a kitchen team
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Experience preparing specialised diets and working within a care setting is desirable but not essential
  • A positive, proactive approach with a passion for quality and resident wellbeing
