Catering and Hospitality - Glencorse Care Home

Contract: Full Time Salary: £14.05 Per Hour Shift Type: Days Contracted hours: Full Time

A Fresh Start in a Brand-New Kitchen

Glencorse Care Home, a purpose-built, luxury home set in the new Greenlaw Mains community, is due to open soon. With 54 beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms, we will offer exceptional Residential, Dementia, Nursing, and Respite care in a warm and welcoming environment.

We are now seeking a talented and enthusiastic Chef to join our kitchen team from the very beginning. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a commissioning project — helping to shape our culinary offering, build a positive food culture, and bring joy to residents through high-quality, nutritious meals every day.

What We Offer:

  • £14.05 per hour
  • Full-time hours
  • Pension scheme
  • Free onsite parking
  • Paid PVG check and uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)

What You Will Do:
As Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and serving hot and cold meals that are both nutritious and tailored to the individual dietary needs of our residents. You will support the Head Chef in developing seasonal, balanced menus that promote health and enjoyment. Managing kitchen stock will be part of your daily routine, including ordering, rotation and record keeping to ensure safe, efficient operations. You will play an active role in maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards, taking pride in a well-run kitchen environment. In the Head Chef’s absence, you will step up to oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring continuity and consistency in every dish served.

What We’re Looking For:

  • City & Guilds 706 1 & 2 or equivalent (or working towards)
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • A team player with good communication skills
  • Passion for creating food that comforts, nourishes, and supports wellbeing
  • Previous experience in a care setting is desirable but not essential
