Housing Property Compliance Manager needed in Rotherham, £279.82pd PAYE - Reference: 000A 2228 / 1

Reporting to the Head of Housing Property Services, you will be responsible for housing property compliance supported by a high performing, experienced compliance team. You will ensure that our housing stock is compliant in line with regulatory and legislative requirements and with Council objectives. You will play a key role in assuring our tenants, the Senior Leadership Team and Cabinet on compliance with the Regulator’s Safety and Quality Standard.

To be considered for this role it is desirable that you have extensive experience and knowledge of social housing compliance and demonstrable experience of managing staff.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage residential property compliance, including high-risk areas such as gas, electric, fire safety, lifts, legionella, and asbestos.

  • Provide assurance to management that compliance measures are firmly in place to prevent incidents like fires, fatalities, and other critical risks.

  • Work closely with engineers to review certificates, monitor contractor performance, and enforce immediate actions when necessary.

  • Ensure 100% fire safety compliance and actively supervise contractor work to maintain standards.

Candidate Expectations:

  • Compliance experience within a housing association or local authority, particularly in residential stock.

  • Desirable: NEBOSH qualification.

  • Senior-level experience managing staff and reviewing the work of compliance officers.

Work Arrangement:

  • Office attendance expected 2 days per week, with flexibility to reduce to 1 day if required.

Contract Details:

  • Duration: 3–6 months

This is a full time role on a temporary contract basis.
