Summary
We are looking for a drug and alcohol collection officer, who will have thorough training to become responsible for collecting samples for drug and alcohol testing, adhering to strict procedures and maintaining chain of custody, and ensuring the integrity of the testing process.
Location: Near Cannington, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA5 1UD.
Hours of work and number of days can be flexible, however, we have an immediate requirement from 05:00 to 09:00 Monday to Friday, with some opportunity to increase these hours and include weekend shifts.
Key Responsibilities
Sample Collection:
Conducting drug and alcohol sample collections according to industry standards and company protocols, ensuring proper identification, labeling, and handling of samples.
Chain of Custody:
Maintaining the integrity of the chain of custody to ensure the legal defensibility of test results.
Record Keeping:
Maintaining accurate records of sample collection and test results, often using assigned software programs.
Communication:
Communicating effectively with individuals being tested, explaining procedures, and addressing any questions or concerns.
Compliance:
Ensuring all collections are performed in compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
Professionalism:
Maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance at all times, especially when interacting with individuals undergoing testing.
Problem Solving:
Addressing any issues or challenges that may arise during the collection process, such as difficult donors or procedural discrepancies.

Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial for explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and maintaining accurate records.
Attention to Detail:
Meticulous attention to detail is essential for proper sample handling, documentation, and maintaining chain of custody.

A methodical and organized approach to work is necessary for following procedures and ensuring accurate results.

Full training and support will be provided prior to undertaking any drug and alcohol testing, along with on-going refresher training and support.
