1. Basic preparation of food and beverages (for example preparation of vegetables
and snacks)
2. Simple cooking (for example reconstitution of prepared food)
3. Transporting and serving of meals, adhering to portion control, using the correct
serving equipment
4. General kitchen and dining duties (for example, washing up, and cleaning away
equipment and tables
5. Operation of a computerised meal register
6. Cleaning of the kitchen, its surrounds and equipment
7. Cleaning of the dining room, its surround and furniture
8. Cleaning of any areas related to the provision of the Catering Service
9. Maintain a standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the day
10. Be aware of accidents/hazards prevention at all times
11. Follow instruction in regard to personal hygiene and standard of uniform and
appearance
12. Report any defect in equipment immediately
• Hours: can be short, typically 3 hours on occasion 2.5 hours. A non-paid break can be taken, timing depending on the site
• Photo ID provided (and always taken to site by staff member)
• Agency should provide a letter stating that all staff are Enhanced DBS checked
• Must be able to speak and understand English
• Willingness to travel to any school in the borough of Enfield
• Interested in food, and catering experience desirable
• Likes working with children
• Good customer service, friendly and approachable and good communication skills at all levels, children, school staff, colleagues
• Food hygiene qualification relevant to job role e.g. level 1
• Safeguarding Awareness
• Awareness in H & S Regulation
• To adhere the expected standard of personal hygiene, no jewelry, no nail varnish, false eyelashes etc.
• Suitable protective work clothes – i.e. not clothes they traveled in and appropriate foot wear
• Ensure their time sheet is signed before they finish work
