Help people stay warm and well. Become a Community-based Energy Adviser.
Full or part time · Based in Gloucestershire or South Gloucestershire ·
Severn Wye is looking for caring, confident individuals to support people experiencing fuel poverty and help them take control of their energy use.
These essential, community-facing roles will put you at the heart of our work—visiting people in their homes, providing telephone advice, and engaging with residents at local events. You’ll offer compassionate, practical support to households struggling with energy bills and barriers to services, helping them reduce energy use, access grants and navigate a complex system.
You’ll be a trusted ally in people’s lives, bringing patience, warmth and energy knowledge to individuals and families who are often facing multiple challenges. Some days will be demanding, but the work is highly rewarding and meaningful. You’ll be making a real, measurable difference to people’s lives.
Why work with us?
At Severn Wye, you’ll join a team that’s supportive, purpose-driven and welcoming. Our people love what they do and care deeply about their communities.
We offer:
Flexible and hybrid working to support your work/life balance
A friendly team with a wide range of experiences and backgrounds
Full training, including City & Guilds Level 3 in Energy Awareness
24 days’ holiday (rising to 29), plus bank holidays
7% employer pension contributions (when you contribute 5%)
Group life assurance and a generous employee discount scheme
Regular social events and a workplace culture built on care and respect
We are open to part-time working (minimum 22.5 hours/week) and can offer flexibility across 3–5 days. Please include your preferred working pattern in your application or email jacquih@severnwye.org.uk to discuss.
