Summary

Severn Wye is looking for a talented individual to empower people and communities in rural areas to act on climate change.

Funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, Energised Communities will support disadvantaged rural communities in England and Wales to take climate action—reducing energy use and generating clean energy, leading to lower carbon emissions, greater community resilience and long-term sustainability.

The project focuses on communities that don’t typically engage with climate issues, bringing them together for action-oriented conversations about energy and its role in climate change. Communities will explore local challenges, define shared priorities, and develop solutions. Through inspiration, support, and practical tools, Severn Wye will help build the confidence, knowledge and skills these communities need to take action. Over time, the aim is to help communities gain greater control of their energy future, while opening up opportunities in green skills, employment and regeneration.

Why work with Severn Wye?

Severn Wye is a friendly, passionate organisation that offers a relaxed and supportive environment. Our flexible working approach supports people at all stages of life and career, and our team is welcoming, experienced, and committed to making a real difference.

We offer training to support your growth, 24 days of annual leave (rising to 29 with service) plus bank holidays (pro rata for part-time), life assurance, and a pension scheme with 7% employer contribution when you contribute 5% or more. We also offer employee perks including discounts and cashback, and regular social events.

If you're looking to build your career, broaden your experience and make a positive contribution to the future of our communities and our planet, we’d love to hear from you.
