Are you seeking a new opportunity to join a highly successful comprehensive school that is committed to providing an outstanding education of excellence for all? Would you thrive when working with other committed and innovative members of staff? If so, Leigh Academy Halley is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant, to join in September 2025. The successful candidate will provide support both inside and outside of the classroom to develop students to become independent thinkers and learners.
This is a truly fantastic opportunity for a passionate Teaching Assistant to become part of a well-established, highly collaborative and successful inclusion team that works hard to ensure that students receive the highest quality education. We are proud to have been awarded a National Centre of Excellence accreditation from Challenge Partners for our SEND provision and outcomes. We provide a comprehensive array of academic and pastoral interventions to students with a wide range of learning needs. Our Designated Special Provision expanded in September 2024, and we welcomed more students with Educational Health Care Plans into our mainstream provision.
We are open to receiving applications from prospective candidates who wish to work 35 hours per week, plus 1 week, term time only. We also welcome applications from prospective colleagues who would wish to work part-time.
We pride ourselves on having a diverse and dynamic staffing body of committed, creative and hardworking staff who enjoy coming to work as they benefit from:
A calm, organised and professional environment;
An Academy culture that is committed to the holistic development of children;
A clear and consistent Behaviour Policy;
A visible and approachable Leadership Team;
A comprehensive weekly CPD Programme that supports staff in their academic and pastoral roles;
We’d like to hear from you if you would like to:
Support, assist and supervise students during lessons and at lunchtimes
Work with individuals or groups of students to address targets identified in their individual learning plans
Promote and reinforce students’ self esteem, independence and participation within the Academy community
Support students who may exhibit challenging behaviour, are disaffected, have learning difficulties and complex needs
Participate in the planning process to advise teachers on strategies as necessary
Assist in the delivery of intervention and support programmes
Provide assistance as required in the development of learning resources
