We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will support all aspects of day-to-day maintenance and engineering activities to ensure that all equipment runs smoothly and reliably.
Reporting To:
Maintenance and Development Manager
Competencies:
• Intermediate IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, PLC, and pneumatics.
• Solid understanding of engineering drawings and principles.
• Familiarity with Workshop Machinery and PLCs.
• Excellent organisational, timekeeping, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and independently, managing tasks in a timely manner.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise workload and work productively under pressure.
• Positive attitude with adaptability to support business requirements.
• Proficiency in bench fitting skills.
• Possession of a valid full UK Driving Licence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure all Quality systems and procedures are followed to achieve and improve good manufacturing practices (GMP).
• Conduct routine scheduled maintenance on plant and facilities (PPM).
• Check and calibrate instruments and equipment onsite and offsite.
• Diagnose faults, fix issues, and arrange for replacement parts as needed.
• Maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
• Support installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
• Assist in building new production machinery and associated tooling.
• Diagnose breakdowns, ensure proper fitting of new parts, and restore equipment functionality.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns outside of regular working hours.
• Keep relevant personnel informed of necessary information to ensure alignment with objectives.
• Maintain accurate records of preventative and emergency maintenance activities.
• Promote and ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards.
• Perform weekly tests to ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
• Collaborate with the supervisor/manager to agree on appraisal targets.
• Utilise Lean Manufacturing techniques to enhance productivity and efficiency.
• Complete any other relevant tasks as requested by the manager or company.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Proven experience in maintenance engineering (minimum of 5 years).
• Strong understanding of GMP, PPM, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid full UK Driving Licence.
