Correspondence Officer
Contract Length: 12 months
Location: Leeds (Hybrid 3 days a week onsite)
IR35: In Scope
Pay Rate: £126.92 per day PAYE
Our Client is looking for a Correspondence Officer to join their dynamic and fast-paced Customers and Engagement (C&E) team. You will play a key role in delivering outstanding customer service to communities and stakeholders across Yorkshire. The work is varied and impactful, involving clear and compassionate communication on complex and often sensitive issues such as flooding, pollution, and regulated sites.
You'll be at the forefront of engaging with a wide range of customers and stakeholders — from local residents and businesses to Members of Parliament and Government Ministers — handling a broad spectrum of enquiries, concerns, and formal correspondence. If you’re a confident communicator with a passion for public service and a talent for delivering clear, consistent, and accurate information, we’d love to hear from you.
Main duties are:
• managing correspondence and gathering information in order to provide an accurate and timely response;
• managing and responding to complaints;
• analysing data and running reports;
• providing ministerial briefings;
• leading on high profile and complex work within the team;
• working with others to manage reputational risks.

Essential Requirements:


Strong written and communication skills
Candidates must have proven experience in handling formal correspondence—especially complaints or communications with MPs and senior public organisations.

Strong MS office, typing skills and customer service



Desirable:

Previous experience of having working within Local Authority or within an MP or Forces office on constituency case-work.
