Passports, Citizenship and Civil Registration (PCCR) contains three service lines: Passports, Citizenship and Civil Registration. It is an operational delivery area with a range of functions, which considers applications for British Citizenship, applications for British Passports, and to support the recording of life events, including births, deaths and marriages/civil partnerships in England and Wales and to provide certificates via an application process.
PCCR have brought together similar activity across the three service lines into a single function, Cross Cutting Operations (CCO). Workplace Management (WpM) operates as part of the CCO team with the purpose of ensuring staff are equipped with the right workplace tools and can operate within a safe and efficient environment. It has responsibility for the HM Passport Office (HMPO) estate and the General Register Office site at Southport.

Workplace Management is an established functional unit in PCCR with primary remit for enabling the effective delivery of business activities through the provision of a safe and efficient working environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the delivery of Health and Safety key objectives within the Estates and Facility Management function. Additionally, the successful candidate will also support the wider Workplace Management command.
Reporting to the London Workplace Management Site Manager - this role will provide estates management on the London site.
The successful candidate will be required to be organised, energetic and have an excellent range of problem solving and leadership skills to achieve a high level of performance and results.
Candidates should be aware that some out of hours working will be required on an ad hoc basis.
You may be required to perform other comparable duties, reasonably required by line management within the scope of your grade and within the limits of your skill, competence, and training.
The successful candidate must hold SC level clearance or be willing to undergo security clearance to SC level.
Due to budgetary constraints, Excess Fares Allowance (EFA) will not be available for this role.
Key Responsibilities
The London Workplace Management Team work together flexibly to deliver across range of responsibilities. The Estates Manager will be responsible for:
• To act as Health and Safety lead for the site reviewing the local H&S policy on an annual basis, arranging evacuation drills, reporting and handling accident and near miss investigations, provide workstation assessments, coordinating training and delivering H&S induction modules;
• To fulfil Estates management activity in line with legislative and best practice requirements liaising with the landlord, site occupiers, contractors and other stakeholders as necessary;
• To arrange site maintenance and resolution of estates related issues and oversee delivery of cleaning and security services against contract,
• To manage the attendance, availability and deployment of staff in order to provide the best match between available resources and likely demand;
• Manage performance and undertake line management responsibilities;
• To take responsibility for own performance and personal development;
Working Pattern
Due to the business requirements of this role, it is only available on a full-time basis. However, job-share and compressed hours are available.
