An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and inspirational Midwife to join the Maternity and Gynaecology Quality Risk and Safety team.
The post holder will work closely with the maternity, gynaecology and neonatal departments to provide effective communication, leadership and management of key safety improvement initiatives in line with national, regional and local maternity and neonatal drivers. The post holder will be responsible for leadership of the Avoiding Term Admission to the Neonatal Unit (ATAIN) and any quality improvement projects that arise from this program of work. The post holder will also be responsible for supporting the quality governance and risk management processes for the maternity and gynaecology care units, in line with the overarching Trust quality governance framework, working to create a positive organisational safety and learning culture.
Applicants must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills and the ability to organise and prioritise their workload to meet deadlines.

The post holder will also work closely with the Divisional Governance Team and will be responsible for supporting the quality governance/risk management processes for the maternity and gynaecology care units, in line with the overarching Trust quality governance framework, working to create a positive organisational safety and learning culture. This includes ensuring learning from clinical incidents, complaints and investigations is cascaded to all relevant staff groups and monitoring and auditing that learning is embedded.
Chesterfield Royal Hospital is located in Calow, Chesterfield, which is situated on a green field site on the edge of the Peak District National Park. It is home to the Crooked Spire and is also close to Sheffield, Derby and Nottingham, thus offering numerous choices for recreational activities and lifestyles.
Chesterfield Royal Hospital was officially opened by the queen in 1985 and since then it has continued to expand and modernise, currently holding approximately 550 beds. We provide acute in-patient and out-patient care for Chesterfield and the surrounding rural area of North Derbyshire, serving a population of approximately 350,000 people.
The key function of this role is to provide clinical expert co-ordination and leadership of work programmes to meet the recommendations of national, regional, and local maternity and neonatal safety improvement agendas and provide assurance to the Divisional Leadership Team and Trust that compliance is being achieved. This includes monitoring and providing evidence of compliance and coordinating action plans for areas of improvement and leading small quality improvement projects.
